A BREWERY company based in Cleobury Mortimer is seeing stars as it celebrates three of its products being accredited Great Taste Awards.

Oldfields Orchard Medium Sweet Cider made by Hobsons Brewery and local hop and apple grower, Geoff Thompson at Oldfields Farm near Tenbury, was awarded a top three star award.

There were 10,000 Great Taste entries this year and of those products just 130 have been awarded top marks, putting the locally made cider in the top 1% of food and drinks entered.

Hobsons Manor Ale and Oldfields Orchard Medium Dry Cider both won a coveted Great Taste star too, adding to the stars already won by Hobsons Old Prickly, Town Crier and Old Henry.

“Hobsons has won more than 40 awards for its beers and we are thrilled to continue the tradition of awards with our new Oldfields Orchard ciders,” said Alison Chadwick, cider products manager at Hobsons Brewery.

“We were particularly pleased to receive top marks for the medium sweet cider which the judges said made them keen to go back for more.”
