A TEAM from Mickey Miller's Family Playbarn in Craven Arms is set to scale the heights for a children's hospice.

The team will take on the height and speed of a zip wire challenge to help Hope House Children’s Hospices.

Jenny Bowen, owner of Mickey Miller's and one of the team taking part, said: “It is really important for us to help local children and their families and when we found out about this challenge we just had to take part. We hope we will raise lots of money for Hope House.

"We’re a bit nervous but that’s all part of the fun. We’re really looking forward to it.”

Readers are invited to join the team at Zip World in Snowdonia, on Sunday July 19 where they can experience the nearest thing to flying.

Participants will take part in two thrilling zip lines - firstly, a confidence builder at a 45pmh before building up to the longest zip line in Europe and fastest in the world, where it is possible to reach speeds of 100mph.

Registration closes on June 19 and it costs £25 to secure a place.

Each participant is asked to also raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship to help support the vital work of Hope House, which provides care and support to terminally ill children and their families across Cheshire, Shropshire, north and mid-Wales.

It costs the charity more than £5 million each year to provide medical, emotional and practical support to children and their families living with the implications of having a child that will die prematurely.

More than 90% of the funding needed is received from voluntary donations.
