PHILIP Dunne, Ludlow MP has found himself stoking up a head of steam.
The Member of Parliament found himself in the role as fireman on an old style steam locomotive.
It was his way of congratulating the Severn Valley Railway on winning Heritage Site of the Year in the BBC’s Countryfile Magazine Awards.
Severn Valley Railway was up against the Imperial War Museum, Kew Palace, Avebury stone circle, and Portmeirion in Wales.
Mr Dunne encouraged local people to vote for Severn Valley Railway when they were nominated back in January.
“As well as being a top tourist attraction, Severn Valley Railway do excellent work preserving the heritage line,” the MP said.
“They also play an important role in training skilled apprentices who can maintain heritage railways for years to come.
“This award is just recognition for Severn Valley Railway, and their staff and volunteers should feel very proud.”
