THERE was a new face at the monthly farmers' market in Craven Arms.

Louise Bowen had travelled at the way from Oswestry to sell hampers on behalf of Derwen College.

It is a residential college for students with learning difficulties.

The objective is to provide people with the skills they need to gain employment and to live independent lives.

A wide range of service is provided to the public including restaurants, shops, a food centre, a print centre and an art gallery. By working in these areas students can gain the skills needed for the world beyond college.

The market also included a display of various apples by the Teme Apple Group and there were also a range of other locally sourced food on sale.

There will be one more market at the Discovery Centre before Christmas and this will be on the first Saturday in December.
