ON July 24, I ran 15 miles along the Kerry Ridgeway to raise money for ‘Breast Cancer Care’. My main reason for doing this was because of my sister’s best friend, Danielle. She is 28 years old. Last September when my sister, Pippa, was married she was one of her bridesmaids, just after Christmas she was diagnosed with Breast cancer, but I am not just raising money for Danielle, she is just one of the 50,000 women who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

On the day itself I was supported by mum, dad, Pippa and Danielle, (who had travelled from London to make sure that I didn’t cheat!). We set off early, from The Cider House, as we knew that the weather was going to be scorching. It was! It reached 27 °C! One of my teachers, Mr Richard Hornsby, very kindly offered to run with me. Dad was relieved as he had thought that he would have to do it. We stopped briefly, three times, for water and finished by running up the main street in Bishop’s Castle, two and three quarter hours later. We all enjoyed a well-earned drink and a meal at The Castle Hotel.

I would like to thank all those people who supported and sponsored me. So far I have raised just over £1000 for Breast Cancer Care. I will be submitting all the donations September 20. If you feel that you would like to donate to this cause, I have put an online link below: https://www.justgiving.com/Charlie-Lewis00/

Thank you all for your support.
