THE children at the Dame Anna Childs School in Whitton put on what could be there last end of term performance due the threat of closure hanging over the school. The performance for their family and friends was called The Pirates of the Curry Bean and told the story of how Pearl a young mother believes her husband is dead after being lost at see. Pearl and her children find a treasure map that is then stolen by pirates who also kidnap Pearl. Her children then go to find her on the ship called The Crunchy Frog. The Crunchy Frog and all it's crew are captured by pirates of the Curry Bean that then sinks leaving everyone on a the desert island of Lumbago where Pearl finds her lost husband and the treasure is found and they all live happily ever after. The children played their parts brilliantly with the whole school singing a selection of songs, there were also several solos and some of the older children had learned an awful lot of lines. The younger children played ship rats and island monkeys. The performance had some very amusing parts keeping their audience entertained all the way through.
