COFFEE MORNINGS – Two coffee mornings are taking place this Saturday.

One is at the Pilgrim Centre from 10am to noon for Stokesay Church and the other is at Onibury Farm from 10.30am to 12.30pm, with a raffle, plants, cakes and tombola. FAMILY HISTORY – Need help researching? Visit the History Centre at the Discovery Centre on Friday mornings. No charge. 10am to 1pm.

EMBROIDERERS’ GUILD MARCHES BRANCH – Traditional stitching, contemporary style and textile art talks and workshops starting in September, first Thursday of the month at the Community Centre. 7.30pm with coffee/tea at 7pm. Members £1.50, visitors £5.

PLAYING FIELD – Craven Arms Town Council has now agreed a lease with the Craven Arms Playing Fields Association for the management of the playing fields. If you wish to make any enquiries or book the field, contact the clerk of the town council on 01584 874661 or e-mail cewilliams1@btinternet.com. The town council will work with the South Shropshire Furniture Scheme, which will shortly take over the management of the Community Centre to promote the field.

GARDEN FETE – At Acton Scott Hall on Saturday, July 14, from 2.30pm, with stalls, games, home-made teas.

Admission is 50p, proceeds for Acton Scott Church funds.

FUN DAY – The Playing Fields Craven Arms annual fun day willl take place on Sunday, July 15, from 11am onwards.

METHODIST CENTRE, CORVEDALE ROAD – Why not pay a visit? You will be very welcome. Bring your family and friends. Sundays 11am, in the church, with teas/coffees, come and hear dynamic playing on the best organ around. In the nearby centre, Age Concern UK hold an open day from 10.30am to 2.30pm, with an excellent two-course lunch, and on the fourth Thursday of the month there is Holy Communion for those who wish it, in the Onibury Room at 11.30am, with music, and often day trips and other social events, ‘bring and buys’ etc.
