DIABETIC SUPPORT GROUP – At a recent Diabetic Support Group meeting at Millmead, Craven Arms, Trish Morris talked about her life and work in Calcutta, with fascinating reminiscences of her time spent alongside Mother Teresa. The afternoon was much enjoyed by the many folk present and she was thanked warmly by Caroline Holmes.

The meetings are held on the first Wednesday in each month at 2pm. In July there will be a bring and buy and a strawberry cream tea, usual raffle. All welcome.

CRAVEN ARMS and DISTRICT HISTORY GROUP – At the History Centre, Discovery Centre, every Friday from 10am to 1pm you are able to research family history or house history. Volunteers have free access to the Ancestry website. 01588 673216 or 01584 861547 STOKESAY STITCHERS – At the Pilgrim Centre Dale Street, second and fourth Mondays, 2 pm all interested welcome SATURDAY MARKET – This held each Saturday at the Methodist Centre, Craven Arms from early till mid afternoon. Good bargains to be had; a very versatile place to come and look for them – better than a boot sale; this is under cover. Also outside the usual fresh greengrocery and eggs, gardening tools. Plants, cultivated in Shropshire, some unusual.

METHODIST CHURCH – Corvedale Road. Sunday services are held at 11 am followed by tea/coffee in the adjoining hall. On Sunday there is no planned speaker as the members are devising their own programme with special readings and music. All are welcome. Please note that there are now all up-to-date facilities including microphones, comfortable seats and modern lively hymns. Very often the services are united , with all churches in the area participating.

AGE CONCERN DAY CENTRE – This is held in the Methodist Centre, Corvedale Road, there is lots of help available with friendly volunteers, socialising with a two course hot lunch and often during the year special events such as trips. Holy Communion takes place for those wanting to take part, in an adjoining room, at 11.30am on the fourth Thursday in the month.
