COMMUNITY CENTRE IS TAKEN OVER - At a recent meeting, around 60 members of the public who were present have voted overwhelmingly in favour of South Shropshire Furniture Scheme officials taking charge of the Community Centre in Craven Arms. The Centre’s trustees have been struggling to keep the Centre afloat during the last few years after it hit financial problems. The chairman of the former trustees Matt Smith said that allowing SSFS to take over would undoubtedly secure the future of a valuable local asset. SSFS has experience in managing other centres e.g. the Rockspring Centre in Ludlow. The Trust will now be wound up with its responsibilities for the Centre’s Lease, non -fixed assets and staff contracts passing over to the SSFS.
