CREDIT UNION, CRAVEN ARMS COMMUNITY BRANCH - This is open every Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4pm in The Gateway, Craven Arms.
This Branch has now been operating for ten years and has over 3000 members.
JIVE SESSIONS - These are held at Onibury Village Hall on Thursdays, starting to warm up around 7.45pm and running from 8 until 10pm. 07800 634071 cravenarmsjive@gmail.com CRAVEN ARMS BOWLING CLUB - New members welcome on Tuesday evenings from about 7pm. You will be shown the ropes, and also be pleased to hear that the new club building is in the process of being built, as a result of some successful fund-raising.
COMMUNITY CENTRE EVENTS - Next Tuesday Easter Egg Hunt; This Saturday is Model Railway Day. 01588 672847 TEAS AT STOKESAY CHURCH (John the Baptist) - Easter Sunday from 12 noon to 4pm also on the weekend of May 6-7. Hot drinks and the best home made cakes. In aid of Church funds. All are welcome. (In conjunction with the Easter Castle events.) Do go along!
EXHIBITION - Secret Shropshire at The Discovery Centre, now until May 7.
Featuring Maureen Westerby, a local artist, and Jean Macdonald, a local photographer.
CRAVEN ARMS QUEEN’s JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - Memories wanted: As part of the Celebrations, those who were married in 1952 and who will be celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversaries this year are asked if they would like to bring photographs, etc to add to the Memory Wall which will be situated within the Community Centre. And if you celebrate a 60th birthday this year, can you share any photos/ mementoes? Please kindly contact Nicky at the Post Office.
Also volunteers are required to help the celebration day – June 3, go smoothly. If you can spare a little time on the day, please contact 01588 673219 sharlagreenway@hotmail.co.uk CHURCH EVENTS - On Palm Sunday there was a packed Methodist church (by all denominations), after many had taken part in the annual walk from Stokesay, including quite a large number of young people. A trio of musicians provided some inspiring music. Tomorrow, Good Friday, Methodist Church, there will be prayers at the Cross, outside, 10.45am, followed by - 11am - the Good Friday service in the church. This again is a united service. All are welcome.
On Easter Sunday the minister will lead the worship at the Methodist Church, with Holy Communion, followed by hot/cold drinks and hot cross buns.
SHAMBLERS CHANGE - This walking group are changing their walking day from April, to Tuesdays. Please take note.
EASTER LILIES - If you would like to kindly donate the cost of a lily/lilies in memory of a loved one to decorate Onibury Church at Easter, please contact 01584 856351.
