A NEW charity bookshop has re-opened on the Square in Craven Arms.

It will be run by a team of volunteers with support from the Furniture Scheme, a local charity that helps local people in crisis or in need.

A range of books are on sale and everyone is welcome to go along and have a browse.

“We are really pleased to have re-opened this well-supported charity bookshop in Craven Arms,” said Jean Jarvis, chief executive of the Furniture Scheme.

“It fits really well with our ethos of re-use and recycling and will complement our bookshop in Ludlow.

“We are so impressed by the dedication and commitment of the local volunteers and we think the bookshop will be a real asset to our charity.

The bookshop had closed in December but the volunteers and many customers wanted to see it re-open and so it will continue to support Severn Hospice with 10 per cent of the profits being gifted by the Furniture Scheme each year.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am – 4.30pm and Saturday 9.30am – 1pm.
