THE story of Craven Arms will be told in pictures as part of a three-day exhibition by the town’s history group.

New material will be included in the exhibition at the Craven Arms Community Centre including photographs of the town and its people which have not been shown in public before.

The group, which is in its eighth year, now has hundreds of photographs some dating back to the 19th century with the most recent showing events in the past 50 years that some people will remember.

Craven Arms and District History Group holds a drop-in session every Friday morning at the Community Centre when people can get help with their own research, including family histories.

At present, the group is researching people from the town and the surrounding area who fought in the First World War and has information about 130 men.

The local history exhibition is on Thursday, March 17 and on the Friday and Saturday between 9am and 5pm each day.
