SENIOR CITIZENS - Tom Hall will be the speaker at the Senior Citizens Club meeting tomorrow (Friday) at 2.30pm in the URC Hall and will be talking about Bees. Visitors are always welcome to pop in.

SHI EVENT - Ben Osborne will be presenting ‘Jurassic Journey’ at the Silvester Horne Institute this Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets are being sold through Burway Books, and John Thomas Florists .

CANCER CARE - Stretton and Shropshire Cancer Care group will be hosting a sing along with the Strummers at the Parish Centre from 7.30pm on Saturday, March 3, in aid of the Severn Hospice and the Shropshire Branch of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Tickets cost £7.50 including a light supper, but please take your own drinks.

QUIZ NIGHTS - In the Yew Tree Inn, All Stretton next Monday in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. Entry fee is £2.50. On Friday, March 2, the local Cancer Research UK Committee is hosting a quiz night at the Silvester Horne Institute at 7.30pm with Ken Willis as Question Master. FLOWER CLUB - Jackie Charnock will be taking a workshop at the Flower Club meeting next Tuesday, at 7.30pm in All Stretton Village Hall. Visitors always welcome.

GARDENING CLUB - The Gardening Club holds its annual general meeting next Tuesday, at 7pm followed by coffee and a talk at 8pm by Lecturer and nurserywoman, Sue Russell, on the subject of Old Fashioned Roses.

STIPERSTONES - Next Monday, The Church Stretton Local History Group presents Images of Stiperstones Lead Mines at 2.30pm in the Parish Centre.

CAMERA CLUB - Longmynd Camera Club meet next Wednesday at 7.30pm when Roger Hague DPAGB will demonstrate a technique showing up to eight prints at a time under the heading Enjoying Myself. Visitors are always welcome.

PANTOMIME - This Saturday brings to a close the three day staging of Hansel find Gretel by Carole Richards at All Stretton with a matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday and a final performance at 7.30pm.

MAYFAIR - A Poetry Café next Wednesday, will feature 19th Century Romantic Poems and is open from 2pm-3.30pm. Admission is £2 to include a drink. All welcome to sit and listen or take part.

THE CRUCIBLE - Tickets for The Crucible which will be staged at Church Stretton School from Wednesday to Friday, March 7-9, are now on sale from the school reception office for the event which is performed by the students, Tickets cost £5, concessions £3.50. A pre-theatre Curry supper served at 6.15pm can be ordered LUCKY NUMBERS - Lucky numbers in the 200 Club January draw organised by Church Stretton School PTA were 82, 85 and 135 winning £20, £10 and £5 respectively.

FEAST OF MUSIC - A Feast of Music by Shrewsbury Concert Band will take place a Rushbury Village Hall on Friday, March 9, at 7.30pm in aid of Hope Bowdler Church. Adult tickets cost £8 including a finger buffet, and may be reserved by ringing 01694 722793.

TALK - Peter Carty will be talking about Wenlock Edge at Rushbury Village Hall on Friday, March 2, at 8pm.

FASHION SHOW - A Charity Fashion Show by Appleby and Shaw will take place at Housman’s on Thursday, March 22, at 7pm together with live music. Tickets cost £15 from Appleby and Shaw and include mini-grazing and a glass of Fizz. There will also be a charity raffle with proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Unit.
