COUNTRY MARKET - at Mayfair tomorrow (Friday) is open from 9.15- 11.45am selling homemade produce and cakes. This is the last opportunity to purchase before Christmas.

FESTIVE STORYTIME - at the library tomorrow (Friday) is for children under 4, from 10.30-11am.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING - If you pop into Burway Books on Sunday between 10am and 4pm or on Christmas Eve from 9am-5.30pm, they will be pleased to gift wrap your book purchases.

CAROL SERVICES - On Sunday, carol services will take place at St Laurence’s Church at 6pm and at St Michael’s in All Stretton at 6pm. At the URC on Sunday there will be readings and carols at 10.30am. A carol service at the Methodist Church will be at 4pm.

COUNTRY MUSIC - at the District Social Club can be enjoyed on Sunday when Johnny Crystal will be playing music from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES - At 2.30pm at St Laurence’s Church. A crib service will leave from Co-op car park at 1.30pm to follow Mary, Joseph and Dusty the donkey through the town before the service at 2.30pm. There will be a service of Holy Communion at 11pm. Communion service at the Methodist Church will be at 11.30pm, St Milburga’s Catholic Church will have carols at 11.30pm followed by Midnight Mass and St Walburga’s Catholic Church at Plowden will celebrate with carols at 8.30pm and Mass at 9pm.

CAROLS IN THE SQUARE - 6.30pm on Christmas Eve when the Tree of Light will be blessed.

CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICES - 8am Holy Communion and a 10am Christmas family service will be held at St Laurence’s Church. All Saints, Little Stretton will celebrate Holy Communion at 11am. St Michael’s Church in All Stretton will celebrate Holy Communion at 9.30am. The URC Church will hold a family service at 10am and the Methodist Church will be holding a 10am worship for Christmas Day. St Milburga’s Catholic Church holds Mass at 9.15am and St Walburga’s Catholic Church at Plowden will hold Mass at 11am.

BIN COLLECTIONS - Over Christmas, bin collection days will change. Those normally collected on Mondays will be collected this Saturday and the Tuesday collection will now be made on Christmas Eve.

MORNING AFTER EVENT - The 11th New Year’s Day charity walk/run will take place on January 1 at 11am.

Registration will be at the District Social Club from 9.30am. Entry fees are £5 for individual walkers and runners, £1 for juniors and £8 for families. Soup and a roll will be available on return.
