FAMILY FUN DAYS - Church Stretton Golf Club Junior Section has a family fun day planned for Saturday, September 11, starting at 12 noon. There will be a chance to try out the competitions including Texas scramble, putting, chipping , quizzes, and with face painting , refreshments, and various stalls to enjoy. CELEBRATIONS - If you were a former pupil of Acton Scott Village school in the 30s, 40s or early 50s contact Edward Jones on 01694 781260 as a reunion is planned for Saturday, October 2. Former pupils may bring one guest with them to the reception in the Visitor Centre at Acton Scott Farm Museum. There will be a tour of the recently restored school building with a brief history, all followed by a buffet tea and supper for which a small charge will be made.

SUMMERFEST – On Saturday, Summerfest will be officially opened at 10am by Cllr Bob Welch, Mayor of Church Stretton. This will set off a whole host of music and dancing in the Square and Lion Meadow car park, where there will also be vehicles of all descriptions on display. Mayfair will be the scene of exhibitions and musicians and a choir. A glider simulator and flying models will be sited at Burway Road and there will be lots of things to see in the streets and pubs of the town. Rectory Field is the venue for other daytime entertainment and displays, all of which are free. From 6pm to 10.30pm, there will be live music in Rectory Field, with food and a bar available for an admission price of £3, by ticket only sold on the field during the day.
