AN atmospheric lantern parade was the star attraction of the Michaelmas Fair in Bishop’s Castle.

The event is in its 18th year and has become the biggest event in the town’s calendar.

With its slogan ‘something for everyone’ the fair includes activities for people of all ages, including music ranging from pop bands to opera.

As well as enjoying a range of entertainment, groups and individuals from the town also gave people the chance to ‘have a go’ at different activities.

The lantern parade in fading light provides an emotional experience especially enjoyed by young people and is symbolic of the shortening days as the night draw in.
