The nights will be drawing in...

IT was a time of rejoicing in Bishop’s Castle last weekend.

The town held its annual midsummer rejoicing to mark the longest day and the height of summer.

In the spirit of high summer, the Palm Court Band played as locals and visitors enjoyed themselves.

For the energetic, there was the chance to have a go on a trampoline but there were also less strenuous activities available.

The festival is organised for the weekend which falls closest to the longest day, which this year was on Sunday.

Revellers were left with the sobering thought that between now and only a few days before Christmas, the days will slowly start to get shorter.
