AFTER a very successful carnival in July this year the committee wish to remind people that they can help with Christmas shopping and those difficult people you don't know what to buy for at Christmas.

On sale are carnival tea towels which were designed by Karen Bavastock and illustrated by Amanda Houghton and all profits will go to carnival funds.

The tea towels are priced at £4.50 each or as a special offer for the lead up to Christmas if you buy three tea towels they will be £12.

Karen said "the tea towels were really popular at the carnival and make a great gift. When I saw an image of the castle I spoke to Amanda about this design I had in my head of a path leading from the castle with words about the town. I also wanted images of different buildings in town and Amanda did some lovely drawings to go on the tea towel. I then put out a call on Facebook for people to tell me what they thought of the town and their words have gone on the tea towel in a pathway down the middle. I am really proud of what Amanda and I have produced, and we donated our time so all profits after printing of the tea towels will go to the carnival funds".

In addition, the 3rd and final book on the history of the carnival was launched at this year's event and copies are available and again would make a great gift. Priced at £14.50 it is crammed full of pictures of carnivals from the beginning with a concentration on carnival queens and kings from 1990 to present date.

Karen said "If that's not enough to help with your Christmas shopping there are also limited supplies of book two available".

All items are available for purchase at Union Street Garage in Bishops Castle. For any further information email Karen on karenbavastock@btinternet.com or phone 07967 100903.
