THE Knighton pilgrimage of song started at St Andrew's church in Norton where there was a service led by Rev Anne Ballard and a selection of hymns led by musical director Geoff Weaver with music played by organist John Wardle.

This year the walking choir looked at The Canticle of the Creatures by St Francis of Assisi.

There were slightly more pilgrims this year with people travelling from all over the UK to take part including those from Cardiff, London, Sheffield, Ely who sang and walked with local people from Hereford, Chapel Lawn, Presteigne and Knighton.

From Norton the group walked to Presteigne for services and hymns in the Baptist church and then St Andrew's church.

On the Saturday walkers crossed the border into Shropshire for a walk along Western Hill and the Offa's Dyke path down into Newcastle on Clun.

At Newcastle church, after the service they all had lunch and then walked to St George's church Clun and then on to St Edward's church back in Knighton.

The final service of the weekend was held in St Cuthbert's church, Clungunford after a walk through the Shropshire hills and valleys.
