THE wintry rain came down and the Ice Queen triumphed, seeing off an early challenge from the Green Man.
But on Monday, after a damp start, the sun came out, the crowds gathered, the strength of the Green Man prevailed and spring showed its face in the Clun Valley.
Bank Holiday festival goers, including lots of families enjoyed dancing, live music, knights jousting, fire, samba drumming, circus skills demonstrations, hula hooping, archery, duck racing, street entertainers, buskers and every kind of food and drink.
The main event was of course the battle on Clun's ancient bridge for summer, between the Ice Queen and the Green Man.
Luckily for all, he won… but for next year, festival organisers are promising a new twist.
