ONCE again the Scarecrow Sunday at Brampton Bryan attracted a large number of visitors from a wide area and raised hundreds of pounds for the village church. This year the theme was ‘around the world’ with scarecrows and the beautiful floral arrangements in the church depicting people and customs from around the World. On the village field lunches were served as well as refreshments throughout the afternoon, there were lots of stalls selling a wide variety of items and a large display of vintage and classic cars. Activities and entertainments included castle tours, organ recitals, open workshops, a children’s competition, dog show, tractor and trailer rides through the village, children’s sports and Leintwardine Fire fighters brought their fire engine along for children to climb into.
