LYDBURY North PTA held a family fun day on September 27.

The PTA are extremely pleased to say that they raised a huge £900.69 for Lydbury North C of E (A) Primary School, more than anticipated. It is a very small, rural primary school and to have raised so much is a testament to the parents and local community's loyal support and dedication. The aim for the day was to give the children and local community a great day out and the PTA think that was achieved.

It was the PTA first family fun day and due to its success, they hope to make it an annual event.

They were very lucky to have Bishop's Castle Shropshire Fire and Rescue and the local police community support officer, Julia St John-Martin, who came along and let the children have fun with the fire engine and police car. There was stocks and games, pony rides, bouncy castle, face painting, stalls, ice creams and a barbecue, even Elsa and Olaf from 'Frozen' put in an appearance to the delight of the children. Also the first dog show was hosted which was a huge success and enjoyed by all.

Abby Garnett, Lydbury North PTA, would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved and who came along. A lot of hard work was put into the day, but the end result was well worth it.
