Sunshine stroll for Bishops Castle carers

BISHOPS Castle and District Carers Group enjoyed a sunshine walk along the All Ability Trail at The Stiperstones, near Minsterley, this week, followed by tea and cakes at the nearby Bog Visitor Centre.

One of the walkers, carer Sandra Dickson of Hanwood, Shrewsbury said: “It is better than any medicine coming up here, the weather has been beautiful and the scenery is simply stunning.”

Group organiser, Jenny Englefield, added: “This has been a fantastic opportunity for carers to get out and about to meet and mingle with other carers, family and friends from south Shropshire.

“Along the short route we spotted a magnificent Red Kite soaring overhead while strolling along the track between the yellow-coloured Gorse bushes.

“The Bishops Castle Carer Group meet at the Boars Head pub on the third Monday of each month between 2pm and 4pm where we have various guest speakers and organise outings, so people are most welcome to come along and join us.”
