A BIG thank you to all who attended the Mayor's Charity Black Tie Event at Ludlow Assembly Rooms, on March 14.

The auction and raffle raised £818, and additional donations were also received on the night. All proceeds are going to the Mayor's Charity, Homestart.

A traditional raffle followed the dinner with some great prizes from generous local businesses including, a 10 year old bottle of whisky donated by Bentleys Wine, tickets to use at the Assembly Rooms, family entrance to the Food Festivals, Croft Castle and the Discovery Centre, as well chocolates and gifts donated by businesses and residents.

The Promise Auction was a great success with the top lot being tickets to phantom of the opera at Her Majesty's Theatre in London and an overnight B and B at a top London Hotel. Also on offer was a meal for two at the Feathers and at Degreys, a day out at Ludlow races, tickets to the Ironbridge Gorge Museums, a family season ticket for Ludlow Castle, seven days board for one cat at Knowbury Cattery, and an original piece of artwork by local artist Charlotte Ambrazas.

Guests enjoyed a three course dinner, accompanied with music and magic tricks performed by local magician, Sonny Pennington and the evening was rounded off by dancing.
