HOW to draw your pet was the first short course to launch the new artist-in- residence programme at Tenbury High Ormiston Academy

Katie Powis, a talented local artist, and art teacher Mary Jordan delivered a short course on how to draw a pet.

This took place after school and was well attended providing an opportunity for parents and their children to work together on a single project.

Earlier Ms Powis had worked with year 10 and year 11 art pupils looking at surrealism and fantasy art which is another of her art interests.

She has also worked with year nine art students drawing portraits of African animals. This will form part of their African art project which will be on display in Tenbury later in the year.

Throughout the year the school will be inviting artists who work in a variety of different media to take part in this programme.
