A BREWERY in Cleobury Mortimer has launched its own cider gift pack.

Hobsons Brewery from Cleobury Mortimer has launched the gift pack under the Oldfields Orchard label.

The launch is the latest design collaboration between Oldfields Orchard, sister company to Hobsons Brewery, and local artists Andy and Nicky Snell, who live just two miles from the brewery.

Apples on the cider labels and the boxes were illustrated in incredible detail by Nicky who used windfalls from the actual orchards at Oldfields Farm near Tenbury for authenticity.

The technical expertise is provided by Andy who incorporated Nicky’s artwork to make the packaging.

“We were working on the Hobsons' beer labels when we were asked to help with the designs for the new cider,” said Mr Snell.

He said that they wanted to create something that was authentic and told a story about the cider, even the gnarly appearance of bittersweet cider apples.

“Like our sister company, Hobsons Brewery, we use local expertise and ingredients to make our ciders and this is just as relevant when looking for a designer,” said Alison Chadwick, Hobsons' product manager.

“We noticed there aren’t many gift packs around that look as good as they taste so hopefully they’ll be a hit with customers this Christmas.”
