Tenbury Colts 5 Ross Juniors Reserves 1

LUKE Gill smashed in four goals to help Tenbury Colts to their first ever win in Herefordshire League Division Three.

Colts had gone into Saturday’s game having lost their opening three games and faced a tough task against high-flying Ross Juniors Reserves.

But the formbook then went out of the window as James Turrell’s team took control of the game.

Dan Jara, Gill and Kurt Pardoe had already gone close for Tenbury before Gill opened the scoring in the 28th minute by chipping the keeper following a through-ball from Jack Moran.

Gill added his second before the break, scoring from a tight angle and, from that stage, Tenbury looked comfortable, with Callum Spires and Ryan Parkes forming an excellent partnership at the back.

And it was game over when the home side grabbed their third goal, with Gill turning provider for Lewis Giles to coolly slot home.

Gill completed his hat-trick with a fine chip over the Ross keeper and he wrapped up Colts’ memorable afternoon 15 minutes from the end.
