Tenbury free health MOT

OLDER people living in the Tenbury area are being invited to have a free health MOT.

And along with their families, friends and carers, they can also find out about the raft of services available to them at a special event.

The Services for Older People day, organised in partnership by NHS Worcestershire and Malvern Hills District Council, takes place at the Regal.

Over 18 organisations, including Age UK, NHS W o r c e s t e r s h i r e , Worcestershire Careers Association and Act on Energy, will be exhibiting on the day.

“Within the area there is a high proportion of people aged 50 years and over and, as part of our commitment to them, we are keen to raise their awareness and understanding of the services they can access,” said Melanie Whistance, from NHS Worcestershire.

“It is also an opportunity for health and social care professionals and members of the voluntary sector to get up-to-date information about services on offer to older people.”

The event is on Thursday, October 18 between 11am and 2pm.

There will be a free tea/coffee and slice of cake on arrival.
