SOUTH Shropshire has seen several people rescued from flood water.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service mounted the rescues in the Ludlow and Cleobury Mortimer areas.
In Neen Sollars residents were rescued by the fire service early this morning. Residents have reported that a bridge there has collapsed due to the chaotic weather conditions.
The A49 is currently closed to roads and vans between Bromfield and Craven Arms but lorries and heavy vehicles are being allowed through.
Throughout the night the fire service received around 50 calls across the county, many of them from south Shropshire.
In total over the course of 14 hours the service has rescued at least 10 people from flooding related incidents across Shropshire.
The Shropshire Fire Service has also attended an incident in the Tenbury area, working alongside Hereford and Worcester Fire Service where two occupants of a property were rescued.
The river level of the Teme in Tenbury itself is extremely high. Levels are expected to peak at 2pm this afternoon.
Newnham Bridge, just outside Tenbury, has been particularly badly hit.
