GOLF professional Oliver Farr will be pitting his wits against some of the top amateur players in Europe during the next three weeks.

The Newnham-Bridge-based golfer is taking part in the EuroPro tour and was due to compete at Bovey Castle in Exeter yesterday.

“It is a good standard and most of the players have played at the top amateur level at some stage, whereas some are like me who are at the start of their careers” said Farr.

“To win it, you would have to shoot a lot under-par.

“It is nowhere as high as the European Tour, but it is a good level to learn your trade and go from there.”
