REIGNING-champion Scott Moran has stormed to the top of the leaderboard after winning all four races in back-to-back-meetings of the MSA British Hillclimb Championship at the weekend.

Scott, from Orleton, won two races each in Barbon Manor, Cumbria, on Saturday (May 12) and Harewood, near Leeds, on Sunday (May 13).

He now has 57 points out of a possible 60 and leads nearest challenger Trevor Willis by 13 points.

And it could soon be a case of a family affair at the top of the leaderboard as Scott’s dad, Roger, is just a point behind Willis in third place.

Roger, who shares the Gould V8 with Scott, finished third and fourth at both meetings.

“I couldn’t have asked much more than that and dad is also quite happy with how he did,” said Scott.

“Trevor Willis pushed me hard all the way and I didn’t have it easy.

“I was also a hundredth of a second off beating the British Championship record at Barbon, which would have given me an extra point, which would have been nice, but it was quite tough having back-to-back meetings over the weekend.”

The next round will take place at Gurston Down on the weekend of May 26 and 27.
