SCAFFOLDING has appeared on the front of a south Shropshire Hotel to mark a major investment by new owners that took over the business earlier in the year.
HF Holidays is embarking on a significant building improvement works on The Longmynd Hotel, pictured above.
The walking holidays company, which took over the hotel management in February, has just announced major capital investment in this landmark hotel in Church Stretton.
Significant improvements with an investment of over £100,000 are planned for the exterior of the hotel and scaffolding – due to remain in place for four to six weeks – has now been erected at the visible rear of the building.
Works will include roofing repairs, repairs to balconies, masonry and rendering, replacement windows and also repainting.
The interior – including the reception area and the ground floor – will also benefit from a redesign and refurbishment.
The Longmynd Hotel is open for business as usual, with only a small number of bedrooms affected, accepting bookings for accommodation, functions and weddings.
Manager, James Tully, said: “We are busily preparing for the first summer season of walking and leisure activity holidays at The Longmynd Hotel and it is very exciting to see it come to life with all the improvement works.”
HF Holidays has operating The Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton since February 1 on a five-year lease-purchase arrangement.
Local community and tourism representatives from Shropshire Hills area will be invited to join The Longmynd Hotel Management at an open day on Saturday, July 21 2012 following the improvement works.
