Restaurant plan for former post office in Ludlow

FOOD from the Mediterranean is coming to a new restaurant in Ludlow.

The ground floor of the old post office in Corve Street will open in May as a restaurant.

It marks a new stage in the life of the historic building that was at one time the main post office in the town and is also a former home of the Advertiser.

Planning permission is being sought and subject to no problems the restaurant to be known as The Mail Room will open on the ground floor with the existing offices remaining on the upper level.

The building is owned by Ludlow businessman Paul Haslam-Fox.

“I do not want to say too much but there will be a range of mid-European food as well as English food,” said Paul.

“By this I mean the kind of food you would buy in the south or France and the Mediterranean.”
