MIKE Foster was the star of the show as his hat-trick helped Tenbury to a resounding win.

Foster has been in blistering form for Colin Powell’s side in West Midlands League Division 2.

His second treble of the season has now lifted him to eight goals in just 10 league games.

Surprisingly, Foster’s goals have come since he was converted from a striker to a central-midfielder.

Powell says the move has suited his goal ace. “Mike is now facing the goal, rather than having his back to goal, which I think suits his style of play more,” said Powell. “He starts by breaking it down in the middle and when the ball goes down the flanks, he gets on the end of them in the box and gambles.

“He should have scored more this season though as he has missed four or five other chances, but his confidence and a little word from the manager on how to do things has worked.”

Foster’s first goal on Saturday came after nine minutes and he soon made it 2-0 by converting a pull-back from Ryan Morris.

Lee Millichip capitalised on a defensive error to score Tenbury’s third, before Foster completed his hat-trick.

Ettingshall were reduced to 10 men before Tenbury bagged a fifth goal through Kieran Fish.
