A LUDLOW hotel has won an important accolade.

The AA has named Fishmore Hall as one of the top hotels in the British Isles.

Fishmore Hall has been honoured with an AA Inspector’s choice award, with three red stars for outstanding accommodation, as well as three AA rosettes for their foodie favourite restaurant Forelles.

In the four years since the owners embarked on the refurbishment of this once derelict property, the 15 bedroom Georgian house hotel has become established as one of the country’s finest.

Red Star – as opposed to black star – hotels represent the most outstanding examples in each star category and signify the best in the country.

“We are elated to have been presented the three AA red stars,” said Laura Penman, owner of the hotel.

“Our hotel has undergone substantial development in such a short space of time and this is confirmation that every hour spent was worth it.

“The staff have worked incredibly hard to maintain and raise the level of service that we pride ourselves on.”

Fishmore Hall’s restaurant Forelles is no stranger to recognition.

It was awarded two AA rosettes within just 10 days of opening and the AA has now awarded it a third rosette.

This places Forelles in the top 10 per cent of restaurants according to the AA Guide.
