Tenbury United 2 Sikh Hunters 4

TENBURY United assistant boss Graham Caldicott says he remains confident his side will improve despite watching them surrender a 2-1 home advantage.

United have still won just once in their West Midlands League Division 2 campaign but Caldicott said the Worcestershire outfit often start the season sluggishly.

“We tend to start the season slowly and then pick up,” he said.

“I can definitely see light at the end of the tunnel.”

On Saturday, United recovered from going a goal down against league newcomers Sikh Hunters with Michael Foster drilling in an equaliser just after the break.

Lee Millichip then turned a set-piece into the net to turn the game on its head before Hunters stormed back to level and then grab two late goals.

“Once they scored the equaliser they got the bit between their teeth and added two more,” added Caldicott.

“We put a good side out and man for man we had the better players.

“We were always in the game. But they came here very determined.”

The result leaves Town in 12th place just a point ahead of bottom-placed Malvern Town Reserves.

United entertain 10th placed Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves this Saturday knowing victory will move them ahead of their opponents.

Three teams, Hereford Lads Club, Haughmond and Penkridge Town, currently head the table.
