TENBURY United suffered their fourth straight defeat in Division 2 of the West Midlands League when they entertained Team Dudley at Palmer’s Meadow.

But player-manager Colin Powell saw enough in his side’s performance to suggest their fortunes could soon change.

“We are creating more chances than the opposition at the moment but we are not being clinical enough in front of goal,” said Powell Tenbury created a host of chances, but seem to lack the confidence to convert them.

Powell was pleased that his side continued to push forward when they were trailing.

Dudley took the lead midway through the first half when a fortunate ricochet set up their tricky winger.

He sold his marker a dummy and fired the ball home.

Kieran Fish missed a chance from a tight angle and Ryan Morris blasted the ball against the crossbar with the goal unprotected.

Morris made amends when he cut inside and his shot took a slight deflection before hitting the back of the net.

Tenbury went behind again on the hour mark when the Black Country side capitalised on more slack marking in the home defence.

The Dudley winger produced another dummy minutes later before scoring his side’s third goal.

Tenbury kept going up to the final whistle, but further chances went begging for Mike Foster (twice), Lee Millichip and Powell.
