LUDLOW’S fine start to the season in the Marston’s Premier League came to an abrupt end when a below-par batting performance left their bowlers with a difficult task.
They tried hard, but Manny Singh (55 no), who turned in a man-of-the-match performance, steered Worfield home.
Tim Goldthor p (39) was the only Ludlow batsman to reach 20. Baden Wilton (3-32), Louis Watkins (3-16) and Ali Raza (2-27) kept their side in the contest.
Ludlow 2nd gained a comfortable five-wicket win after bowling their hosts, Worfield 2nd, out for 199.
Rob Genner (72) and Matt Hawes (53) eased them home with 14 overs to spare. Ed Rayen (5-28), Andrew Hillman (3-36) and Simon Miles (2-42) shared the wickets.
