MORE than 100 business women from across the UK gathered for the WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) A Passion for Rural Business Conference.
WiRE has more than 60 local groups around the country including the Ludlow WiRE Network.
Network leader Pen Harrison from Colly Brook Fine Furnishings said: "The rural economy is worth an estimated £374 billion pounds a year and more and more women are making a significant contribution to that figure. Here in Shropshire/Worcester we have women running businesses as diverse as house history to business coaching.
Even in these tough economic times we believe there is scope for growth.”
A Passion for Rural Business was organised with exactly that in mind; to help delegates start or grow their businesses in 2011.
