A REDUCED version of the Ludlow Hunt did take place despite the weather – but not on Boxing Day as tradition normally dictates.
As the holiday fell on Sunday this year and it is considered unlucky to bring the horses out on a Sunday or Good Friday, the hunt met in the grounds of Ludlow Castle on Monday.
But the horses stayed in their stables as the frozen ground conditions were considered very dangerous.
The hounds were brought in to the castle grounds by the Master of the Hounds, Oliver Dale, much to the delight of the crowds, especially the children.
The Hounds then left the Castle and were paraded around the main streets of the town.
