TEAM manager, Les Bristow, will be hoping to put defeat behind him as Ludlow Town prepare for a vital FA Cup Preliminary Round tie away at Mickleover on Saturday.

It will be a tough test for Town. Mickleover, who play in the Premier Division of the Northern Counties East Football League, are fresh from a 1-1 draw last Saturday when only a late equaliser from Brigg Town denied them all three points away from home.

Second appearance

Town on the other hand went down 2-1 in their away Midland Alliance encounter at Barwell in which the away team's Richie Walker bagged a brace either side a of a Will Hughes' goal .

This will be only Ludlow Town's second appearance in the FA Cup, having been drawn away in Preliminary Round ties on both occasions.

Last year they made their debut in the world's greatest football competition when they travelled to Stratford Town where they suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat.

Manager, Bristow, is hopeful of a better performance this year.

On Saturday's match, he said the team will travel with two things in mind, naturally to try and reach the first qualifying round, but also to experiment with both their side and tactics in an attempt to find a winning formula when they return to Midland Alliance action.

With a large squad to select from the management team feel the time is right to ring the changes in order to find a line-up which gives a more solid performance in defence whilst still creating and hopefully accepting chances at the other end.
