LUDLOW'S lack-lustre start to their Midland Alliance programme continued when they slumped to a five-goal home defeat by mid-table visitors Grosvenor Park.

After just six games, and only one victory, Ludlow have dropped to fourth bottom in the table and manager Les Bristow has vowed to ring the changes.

He was far from happy with his team's performance and said: "The two areas you need to be strong on a football pitch is keeping things tight at the back and scoring goals at the other end. Unfortunately, we are doing neither and I think the time may be right to look for some new players to stop the slump."

After a promising start in which Ludlow controlled the play and moved the ball well to create the better chances, they fell behind three minutes before the break when Donovan Rowe seized on a half chance to fire the visitors into an interval lead. Although Ludlow had enjoyed the better of the first half in both possession and territory, they fell apart early in the second period when they conceded three goals in just eight minutes.

Grosvenor Park took full advantage of a Ludlow defence which had gone to sleep and goals from Errol Black, Ray Scandrett, and a second from Rowe catapulted them into a four goal lead.

Agony

Ludlow tried to pull themselves together but failed to break down a determined Grosvenor Park defence, with the visitors piling on the agony when Rohan Hazell grabbed a fifth to complete the scoring.

Bristow added: "We started the season full of optimism and thought we were going to do well. Unfortunately we have not settled down and must ring the changes."
