A new headquarters for NFU members in Worcester and Tenbury Wells which will also house rural insurer NFU Mutual's expanding local sales team will be jointly opened on Friday by the national leaders of the two organisations.

Sir Don Curry, chairman of rural insurer NFU Mutual, and Tim Bennett, president of the National Farmers' Union, will cut a ribbon together to declare the new office open.

Situated on the outskirts of Worcester at Malvern Gate, the new office provides a central headquarters for NFU members in Worcester and Tenbury Wells as well as providing a wide range of insurance services for local people and businesses.

The previous office in Barbourne was too small for the growing operation.

The new office is staffed by a team of 15 advisers and administrators.

Sir Don, who chaired the Government review into the future of Food and Farming in the wake of the foot and mouth outbreak said: "These days it is something of a rarity for a financial institution to open a new building to serve customers in their local area - but we're committed to providing local service because our customers tell us that is what they want."
