A LEINTWARDINE pub will be getting an £800,000 investment.
Knighton-based soft drinks company Radnor Hills has bought the Lion Inn with plans to refurbish it and reopen within the next nine to 12 months.
“We want to bring it back to its former glory. It’s very run down at the moment and needs some tender loving care,”
said Penny Butler, for Radnor Hills.
“It’s very important to the village and it’s very sad that it has been empty for so long. There is quite a lot of structural work to be done.
“We want to keep it as a traditional inn. It has to be a pub for the village but we also want to attract visitors as well.”
The pub, on the banks of the River Teme, has two bars, a restaurant and letting rooms.
