Ludlow Food Festival highly commended in West Midland's Excellence in Tourism awards

LUDLOW Food Festival has topped a big year with a major tourism award. It was highly commended in the West Midland’s Excellence in Tourism awards.

A record number of more than 20,000 people attended the three day festival over the second week in September.

“This year we had record entries and a record attendance but the calibre of the winners is the highest I have ever seen,” said Brian Summers, chairman of Tourism West Midlands and a former managing director of Birmingham International Airport.

“All the winners demonstrated outstanding levels of customer service, plus exemplary facilities. They have also shown a deep commitment to sustainability, the environment and being accessible to all.”

Ludlow Food Festival has achieved its success despite the death in the spring of one of its founders and strongest champions, the former Mayor of Ludlow Graeme Kidd, who died following an accident at home.
