TWO men who died in a road collision have been named by the police.
Lewis Mather, an 18-year-old from Adforton, and Christian Baker, a 46-year-old from Bucknell, died in the accident at around 7.30pm Friday night.
It happened on the A4110 Wigmore to Adforton road, just north of Wigmore.
Peter Butcher, police press officer, said: “It appears that a blue Nissan Almera was travelling north from Wigmore when it was involved in a head-on collision with a blue Mercedes E300 that was travelling in the opposite direction.
“The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. No other persons were involved or injured.”
Post mortem examinations will take place early this week and the county coroner has been informed.
Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information can contact PC Steve Wood on 0300 333 3000.
