AUCTIONEERS Halls held its second annual sale of breeding sheep at Love Lane, Bishop’s Castle, and excellent trade from the first sale continued with demand high for all categories.
Yearling ewes averaged £112 per head with maximum of £140 for M and G Reynolds. Two, three and four-year-old ewes averaged £93 per head with a maximum of £141 for T Morris and Son.
Stock ewes averaged £53 per head with a maximum £68 for B A Betton.
Ewe lambs averaged £65 per head with a maximum £90 for R S Harrison and rams averaged £310 per head with a maximum £588 for R N Waters.
The annual G Br yan- Jones Cup for the best pen of store lambs was presented to Mark Jones, of Middle Farm, whose lambs sold at £56.50 per head.
