LUDLOW Parish Paths Partnership Group – Ludlow P3 – is celebrating its first year of operation.

The P3 Group is made up of local volunteers who have come together in an arrangement with Shropshire Council to maintain rights of way in the Ludlow area.

It is one of more than 60 groups in the county and receives advice, training, tools, materials, help and support from the Countryside Access Department.

The group has had several working days in the last few months signing the Shropshire Way over its new route from Stokesay through Onibury, Bromfield, Ludlow, Ludford, Caynham, Clee Hill to Titterstone Clee Hill and changing the signage of the old route.

Other work has included renewing the waymarking on other footpaths and bridleways, clearing rights of way, replacing two stiles and putting up new waymarking posts.

Later this month, the group will be marking its first year by putting up two metal pedestrian gates.

A set of walk leaflets based on town footpaths have been trialled and it is hoped that they will shortly be published.

Anyone interested in joining the group should contact co-ordinator Michael Holland via the Visitor Information Centre in Ludlow.
