LUDLOW’S young chef of the year in 2008 has been showing off his skills.
Andrew Thomas travelled to Ludlow’s twin town of Narberth in Pembrokeshire to participate in its food festival.
He started by making crumbles with over 100 pupils drawn from primary schools.
“Andrew is a real natural with people and is very good and making a demonstration enjoyable, with loads of info and fun whilst he is doing it,” said festival operations manager Alex Perks.
“The kids really warmed to him.”
This year, Narberth Food Festival decided to hold a celebrity dinner to close the event. Stephen Terry, of The Hardwick in Abergavenny, created the main course, aided by Andrew as his assistant, thus providing him with another taste of working for a top class chef.
“I'm so glad I entered the young chefs contest,” said Andrew.
“It’s given me loads of different opportunities.
