TELEVISION’S love affair with the historic farm at Acton Scott continues with filming under way on a new daytime BBC series fronted by adventurer Ben Fogle.

After the success of The Victorian Farm, the same team are now working on Escape in Time, which challenges families to live the life of 19th centur y farmers on the south Shropshire estate.

Escape in Time will show how ever yday families escape the modern world to rediscover the practical skills and self sufficiency of our forebears, including ploughing fields and felling trees, plus making butter, preserves and cider.

The series of 20 programmes is due to transmit on BBC2 early next year.

David Upshal, executive producer at Lion Television, said: “It's great to be able to return to the Acton Scott estate with a new TV show. Both the Acton family in particular and the staff of the Historic Working Farm have been enormously supportive of our efforts to get the show into production.

“Furthermore, we've had the opportunity to involve many of the experts we got to know through filming Victorian Farm, over the last couple of years.”

■ Victorian Farm will return to the screens with a Christmas special later this year.
